No making fun of people based on their appearance or personal attacks. Basically my flight is trying to eliminate a lot of inspections from our workload but no one can seem to find regs stating that we aren’t required to have them on certain equipment. I could use a hand sorting this out if anyone has some advice it’d be much appreciated.
Afto Form 244
For example we have a set of jammer forks. It has a 90 day inspection due on the parts like the pins and lanyards. And a day cleaning. The problem you run into is a daily use inspection.
And some shops go way overboard on them. Like say on a ladder or cart. The equipment we’re looking into are Humidifiers and Paint Shakers. The reg says, and I’m paraphrasing it off the top of my head, if we use an electronic method of tracking inspections, a isn’t required. We use the computer program TC Max to track our inspections so that should be enough right? Basically we’re wondering why we track the inspections digitally and also on a If you can sign off inspections, and track red x’s etc and make s electronically imdsyou dont need physical s.
Tcmax is a tool tracker, it doesnt have electronic s. Tcmax also doesnt show detailed inspections. You can’t do this with the supervisory review but you can with everything else. Electronic may be used in place of paper forms. The first paragraph says what needs a Usually big items and safety shit have ‘s.
Jacks, Nose landing Gear adapters, harnesses, slings etc. Nothing else really does. If an item only needs a 30 day insp or something dumb like a vacuum, it probably doesnt need a With that being said we got the new tcmax today and it does have electronic ‘s. Maybe theyll update the afi to say we can just use tcmax. Read the instructions for your Humidifier and Paint shakers. If it has like 4 different inspections 90 day check, lube, water drain, annual cleaningit probably needs a If youre still not sure ask QA; they are the ones who will fail you for it.
Hope this helps mane. I don’t remember what page theyre on in imds. I’m pretty sure Age has to use them.
The reason we dont use imds is the drop down menu No idea which one ,maybe shop? So thats pretty kool. But don’t have a Every piece torm equipment is different.
Any maintenance people here able to give me some advice on AFTO Form ‘s? : AirForce
But if an inspection is required is almost always has a The one piece of equipment I can think that doesn’t is the big black jet engine shop corded flashlights. It has a yearly inspection due. Like I said it just depends. Like the for the truck on the first of the month. All of the eye wash stations. Or last week we had someone click update all instead of just the one job. Without telling us what equipment your referring to it’s kind of difficult to zfto you. Also, your AFSC would help.
Look at and avto starters. If you use tcmax I believe there is something saying your authorized to track inspections instead of using a General rule of thumb though is if it has an inspection prescribed by TO, AFI, fform owners manual it needs a I don’t think you’re going to find anything saying what your looking for specifically. I know is extremely vague in defining support equipment.
Want to add to the discussion? In the inspection section it will list all of the requirements. Not saying youre wrong just trying to explain. I will have to look into it. Im pretty sure the last tcmax didnt forn ‘s. Helps when QA comes around and the inspections are all done. A lot of bases do their own weird shit.
