On the contrary, it is a great way to dive a little deeper into the topic for everyone who likes documentaries about space or is into science-fiction in space. Ever since Albert Einstein’s general theory of relativity burst upon the world in some of the most brilliant minds of wxrps century have sought to decipher the mysteries bequeathed by that theory, a legacy so unthinkable in some respects that even Einstein himself rejected them.

You will want to know more about the subject. Thorne is one of the most important researchers in gravity and black holes. The topics within – particularly the sections on relativity and event diagrams – require the reader to spend some time turning them over in the mind to reach an intuitive understanding.

If you are interested in learning more about black holes and time warps and are willing to reread every paragraph until you understand then I definitely recommend this book.
