What’s the newest Bretonnia Army Book? Sorry for asking such a basic question here, but I couldn’t readily find an answer online; I’d appreciate finding out: Beastmen I believe was the only other army not upgraded. There was edltion fan made Bret army book which gave them some new units and rules which is worth a look but I’m on mobile and can’t link at the moment. Bretonnai think this is the Bretonnian Fan book you are thinking of.
I can confirm Skaven and Beastmen last editions army books were indeed 7th Edition. Still useable though much like the 6th Editiion Bret book. Yeah Beastmen and Skaven didn’t get any 8th love. It was kinda given up half way was the feeling I always got. Full list of books can be found here.
Yeah it’s a real shame I joined the hobby just before 8th launched and it felt like such an optimistic time; every army was reputedly getting a new book, they were hardbacked and real nice Had no idea everything was going to get squatted.
It blind sided most people. Each one is extremely different in army composition and play style. Brett’s have always been my number one army so I was always holding out for the new book. You’re right the quality in the 8th ed books was amazing, was looking forward to that. Try playing The 9th age Community built new game involving 16 I think armies from the Warhammer world.
An Army Book in the Warhammer Fantasy tabletop wargame, is a rules supplement containing information concerning a particular army, environment, or worldwide campaign.
Army Books for particular armies 7yh introduced for the fourth edition of the game prior to that all armies were included in the main rulebook. The sixth edition rendered these obsolete.
Sadly the last beastmen book from 7th was supremely underpowered when it did come out, and only got worse in 8th. Pretty much the only viable army was a herdstone council A lot of the older stuff isn’t really relevant to 8th anymore and he plays Beastmen too, but theres certainly entertainment to be had here.
Yea the 8th ed train passed by the bretts. Even the skaven and beastmen atleast got some pretty cool endtime stuff editioj work with and new kits like the vermin lord. Like, you say that Beastmen got some love, but I understand that ol’ One-Eye went out pretty easy, no?
Hmmm you know to be honest I haven’t read the end times books since they came out, but the majority of chaos characters were just fodder until the big shebang. I can go back and double check but do remember that Khazrak played a pretty pivotal part in having Toddbringer abandon middenheim due to their grudge.
Middenheim without Toddbringer obviously fell. They also managed to t7h take over most of athel loren including infesting the world tree with maggots but then got driven out. Mallobaude became probably a vampire, and fought King Lois in a civil war that turned out just to be a front for some relics of Nagash to get stolen.
The Green Knight turned out to be Gilles le Breton and took over the job of being king, and so the old king went on a crusade to Altdorf to fight Nurgle, he fought very bravely and died killing a great unclean one, but in the grand scheme of things did very little, given that the power of Sigmar cleansed the city right after. Surviving Brets joined the empire refugees and enjoyed a suicidal charge against Archaon at Averheim.
Brets left in Bretonnia largely ended up as editionn playthings for all the Dark Elves that emmigrated to Athel loren. Few surviving knights eventually find out that the Lady of the Lake is an elven goddess, who used bretonnia as a meat shield to keep the more important elves safe.

I mean, even Wood Elves got some love.
Even the skaven and beastmen atleast got some pretty cool endtime stuff to work with and new kits like the vermin lord Bretts just got pooped on. They also managed 7rh finally take over most of athel loren including infesting the world tree with maggots but then got driven out So I mean yea, the beastmen were mooks lorewise but hey atleast end times gave them chaos marks.
